Advocates

An Advocate is someone who steps in to protect, support, and guide a senior through difficult or uncertain times—especially when rights, safety, or access to care are at risk. Advocates help ensure concerns are taken seriously, solutions are found, and no one is left to face mistreatment or confusion alone.

Our team includes two types of Ombudsmen, both dedicated to protecting seniors and resolving problems in care settings:

• Care Advocate
  A state-certified official from the local Long-Term Care Ombudsman Office. Certified Ombudsmen are authorized to investigate concerns inside licensed care facilities—such as nursing homes, assisted living, or adult day programs. They remain neutral and report directly to the proper authorities responsible for protecting resident rights.
• Protect Advocate
  An in-house specialist trained by our organization to respond to concerns in private homes, independent living, and unlicensed care settings. They focus on situations that may not fall under state oversight but still involve serious risks—such as financial abuse, caregiver neglect, or unsafe conditions.
• Support Advocate

Our Advocates are the first line of support when a senior faces mistreatment—whether neglect, abuse, fraud, or serious challenges finding the right help. We stand beside seniors, family members, and caregivers by listening, acting quickly, and making sure every voice is heard. With training in elder rights and experience managing care, benefits, and support services, our Advocates bring clarity, compassion, and action when it matters most.

• Access Services – Guide seniors through healthcare, legal, and community services so nothing falls through the cracks
